Edge of the Lake - North America
Explorers have spent the last 400 years wandering North America discovering its mysteries, its beauties, and its brutal powers. They have discovered some of the most beautiful and unique things anywhere in the world like, the Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls, and the Redwood Forests of California. My personal favorite though, was Lake Tahoe. Lake Tahoe is a beautiful lake nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains on the border between California and Nevada. Last week I traveled there because my Geography teacher said go somewhere interesting and write about it. So here I am.

Last week I took it upon myself to go on an amazing journey to Lake Tahoe. I stayed at the Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge which was very nice lodging with a very "wild" feel. While there, I learned that the lake was named "Tahoe" after a common English mispronunciation of the Native American word for "edge of the lake". I also decided to go paddle boarding on the South Shore which was awesome. The water of the lake is run-off of the mountain snow that melts during the summer so the water is super clean and is said to have almost 100ft claritty,it even has a depth of 1644ft. All together I had a great time, swimming, playing volleyball on the sandy beach, paddleboarding, and admiring the landscape. This is a getaway I would recommend to anyone, young or old.
